AFJ PTFE Slide Bearings
Australian Flexible Joints produce a range of PTFE Slide Bearings that are used in a wide field of applications including:
- Pipeline expansion
- Offshore flare stack structures
- Bridge expansion
- Multi-storey car park expansion
- Skidway plates
Normally a slide bearing consists of two pads of 2.5 mm thick PTFE sliding against each other. Each PTFE pad is factory bonded to a metal subframe using a combination of high pressure and temperature with a chemical bonding agent. This construction is recommended for bearing pressures up to 70 Kg/cm. For any loads in excess of this we additionally recess the PTFE into the subframe.
